Under the patronage of Aditya Birla Jan Seva Trust we roll out our CSR activities. Our commitment to inclusive growth is deeply ingrained in our day-to-day decision making and also reflects in our long-term strategic action plans.

Every stakeholder category we have identified in this report form an ecosystem that support, encourage and help us perform better YoY. Our People, our communities and other stakeholders are our pillars of growth.

All community development activities are undertaken through participatory models with close involvement of community members. We conduct annual surveys with the direct beneficiaries of our community development programs. The survey results are discussed during our management meetings. These surveys measure the intensity and depth of various projects undertaken as CSR activities under the sponsorship of Aditya Birla Jan Seva Trust, on education, sustainable livelihood, health and sanitation. In line with our vision and mission, our community development programs are categorized into 5 focus detailed below.

  • Project KAUSHALYA: The free skill training centre for the youths

    “KAUSHALYA” is a unique project in which National Skill Development Council (NSDC) certified short term vocational training courses, mostly linked to specific industrial skill sets are imparted free of cost to the college dropouts and unemployed youths for increasing chances of their employability through providing them placement opportunities with suitable employers or are encouraged to be self-employed.
  • Project ANYA: The free skill training centre for women

    In Project “Anya” project we trained under privileged women to make jute bags so that they can generate regular income. Once training is done, sustainability of the value chain is ensured through establishment of market linkages with a local vendor. The vendor invests in acquiring raw material for the women. The vendor further buys the finished product, print or dye the same and sell the product to Aditya Birla Retail Ltd.
  • Project GYANARJAN: The free specialized coaching centre

    Project GYANARJAN is a free specialized coaching class for mostly the class X, Class-XI(Sc) and Class-XII(Sc) students of the Government aided vernacular medium schools at Rishra & Barasat. The basic objective is to provide a clear career path for the aspiring students to excel in academics through Specialized Coaching & also provide career guidance facilities for the needy and deserving school / college students also instill confidence to perform well in the Joint Entrance Examination for Medical & Engineering.

Rishra Leprosy-TB-AIDS Control Project (RISLEP) To create mass awareness among masses on these dreadful diseases and also identify and cure affected patients to stop the chain of transmission. (Collaborator: Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation)

NIRMAL GHAR: Rural household Sanitation Project To ensure that all the household in the village have access to sanitation units and create awareness on health & hygiene. (Collaborator: Barasat Unnayan Protustuti)
